Palestinian medical officials reported at least four deaths following Israeli Defence Force airstrikes on Gaza overnight Sunday. According to the reports, a married couple were killed in a strike on their home in Deir al-Balah, with four others wounded in the same incident. In Gaza City, two people including a child were killed in a separate strike on a residential building. The deaths come as efforts to implement a 15-point peace plan released by Trump’s ‘Peace to Prosperity’ initiative remain stalled. The plan, which was unveiled with significant international attention, has yet to be put into action on the ground.Hamas has continued to condition the handover of its weapons on a complete ceasefire and full Israeli military withdrawal from Gaza. However, an Israeli official told Reuters that there would be no withdrawal from military positions without what they described as ‘genuine disarmament’ of the organisation. The competing demands underscore the deep divisions that continue to obstruct any comprehensive peace agreement between the parties.
