A former senior figure in the Fatah movement has announced that Hamas and other Palestinian factions have approved a 15-point peace framework, insisting that the success of any agreement now rests with Israel’s willingness to cease military operations in Gaza. Muhammad Dahlan, who advises the President of the United Arab Emirates, said that negotiations are ongoing with the American administration to ensure full implementation of the proposed plan.
Dahlan revealed that Jared Kushner, the former Trump administration official, has updated him on efforts to persuade Israel to halt its offensive operations. The claim represents a significant development in long-stalled peace negotiations, with Palestinian leadership signalling acceptance of a structured pathway towards resolution.
Calling on all Palestinian organisations to respect the agreement, Dahlan urged them to cease any armed activities that could be used as a pretext to undermine the accord. He outlined a post-conflict agenda that includes reconstruction of Gaza, protection of the West Bank, and continued pursuit of an independent Palestinian state.
The announcement underscores the central tension in current peace efforts: while Palestinian factions appear aligned behind a proposed framework, questions remain over Israeli acceptance and implementation. The focus on American diplomatic involvement suggests efforts to maintain Washington’s role as a mediating force in the long-running Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
