Bus company fined £842k for needless engine emissions at terminals

Egged transport company was penalised by Israel’s Environment Ministry after drivers left buses idling at terminals for over ten minutes, releasing unnecessary pollutants. Inspectors recorded the violations at multiple stops and depots across the network. The fine was reduced by 20 per cent after the company demonstrated no prior violations, though seven additional observations documented repeated breaches even after corrective measures were presented.
