Cruise ship with approximately 1,400 Israelis detained in Greece over bomb threat

Breaking

The cruise ship Crown Iris, operated by Mano Shipping and carrying approximately 1,400 Israeli passengers, has been detained at the port of Syros in Greece following an anonymous report of a suspected explosive device or bomb in the ship’s underwater section, according to Walla and Israel Hayom reporting.

Greek authorities launched a search operation following the suspicious report. Initial preliminary checks by Greek forces found no suspicious items on the vessel. The ship was scheduled to depart from the Greek island of Syros this evening en route to Israel.

This incident follows a recent wave of bomb threats targeting Israeli flights and vessels in recent weeks, raising concerns about security threats against Israeli-connected transport.
