A 30-year-old cyclist has been killed after being struck by a vehicle on Road 3855 near Beit Shemesh on Friday morning. Paramedics and emergency medical technicians from Magen David Adom (Israel’s ambulance service) arrived at the scene but were forced to declare the man dead at the location.
Paramedic Benny Rozens described the harrowing scene: “We found the injured man lying by the roadside unconscious, without a pulse or breathing, with severe head injuries. We conducted medical examinations but sadly his injuries were so severe that we had no choice but to declare him dead.”
Police have detained the driver for questioning as they continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision. Authorities are gathering evidence from the scene to determine the exact cause of the incident. The death marks another fatal road accident in Israel, where traffic incidents remain a significant public safety concern.
