A terror attack in Jordan has claimed eight lives, with one victim succumbing to their injuries in hospital, according to multiple Israeli sources. King Abdullah II of Jordan vowed a strong response, stating authorities would strike “with an iron fist” against anyone daring to attack the kingdom.

The Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem condemned the attack as “abominable and cowardly.” Jordan has declared three days of national mourning and launched an ongoing operation to apprehend the terrorist cell responsible for the attack.

The incident represents a significant security incident in the region and has prompted heightened security measures across the Jordanian state.
