Demand from the Ministry of Defense: "Reveal the data of experiments carried out on animals" | First publication

The association "Let them live" petitioned the District Court in Tel Aviv demanding to reveal the full data on the security system's experiments on animals. According to the petition, Let the Animals Live demanded to receive information regarding animal experiments, which were approved by the Committee for Animal Experiments in the Ministry of Defense – including a division according to the type of animal and the degree of suffering caused to them.

From the information provided, in 2022 experiments were conducted on animals while causing pain at high levels. The experiments were conducted on hundreds of animals, including pigs, rodents, sheep and goats. The Ministry of Defense clarified that the segmentation provided includes only partial information, and "does not include data about experiments defined as classified, due to fear of harming state security."

In "Let Live Live" they demanded that the Ministry of Defense receive the reasons why the provision of the information would harm the security of the state, but the Ministry of Defense did not respond to the demand. Attorney Tamar Mayo, who submitted the petition, told "Maariv": "The Ministry of Defense refrained from handing over the information, and did not see fit to even justify how handing over the data would harm the security of the state, no less.
