Four Americans and Hamas operative charged with funnelling $1.7 million to Gaza during war

Breaking

Four indictments have been filed in the United States against Hamas operative Salim al-Zaq from Gaza and three Americans, including a pair of siblings from Louisiana, who raised funds for the terrorist organisation during the war. According to Ynet, the defendants claimed the money was being transferred to wounded civilians in Gaza and deliberately avoided posting ‘Free Palestine’ messages on social media to obscure the nature of the fundraising.

The case highlights ongoing efforts by US law enforcement to prosecute individuals accused of providing material support to designated terrorist organisations. The defendants allegedly used humanitarian aid as a cover for channelling funds to Hamas during the ongoing conflict.

This represents a significant prosecution involving the nexus between US citizens and designated terror groups during active hostilities in the Middle East.
