An Egyptian military aircraft landed in Israel on 26 September 2023 for approximately 67 minutes before departing, reportedly carrying Egypt’s intelligence chief. Prime Minister Netanyahu directed security and law enforcement officials to investigate who met with the visitor, while disputing claims about the meeting’s details. The incident raises questions about how high-level diplomatic meetings could occur without prime ministerial knowledge and whether airport security protocols were followed. Ynet reports Netanyahu questioned whether CCTV footage from Ben Gurion Airport could clarify the visit.
