Eilat: The deputy mayor was violently attacked, the city's resident was detained for questioning

A resident of Eilat was detained today (Monday) for questioning on the suspicion that he physically assaulted the deputy mayor of Eilat, who, as a result of the attack, sought medical treatment at the Yoseftal Medical Center.

The police suspected that the deputy mayor received allegedly threatening and disturbing text messages from the same suspect, and the suspicion that the background to the incident was within the framework of the upcoming local government elections.

As mentioned, the suspect, 63 years old, was located and arrested by Ramon police officers at the Ramon airport and was transferred to the Eilat area for questioning.
