According to Goldknopf, the extension of the tenure of the current government should be considered if the war continues beyond the election date in 2026. "If this is legally possible, there is room to consider it," he said.
The chairman of Torah Judaism added that "We need a government because otherwise we will not be able to continue fighting in Gaza. We have to decide every day on issues of health, economy and welfare and elections will not bring a solution. What will we do with the abductees? There will be many things that elections will stop them when they have to continue running the country."
