An ex-Palestinian Authority minister has announced he will soon reveal details of his mediation efforts between Israel and Hamas prior to October 7, according to Times of Israel reporting. Journalist identification has established Sufian Abu Zaida as the go-between who delivered a critical message from Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar.
Abu Zaida conveyed Sinwar’s threat of an impending ‘earthquake’ to Israeli leadership, which prompted a call from the UAE leader to Prime Minister Netanyahu. This mediation attempt occurred in the weeks preceding the October 7 attacks.
The revelation suggests advance warning signals may have been transmitted through diplomatic channels before the major Hamas offensive, potentially raising questions about intelligence assessment and diplomatic communication protocols during the pre-attack period.
