Fourth suspected Ebola case hospitalised in Israel following return from Democratic Republic of Congo

Breaking

A traveller who recently returned from the Democratic Republic of Congo has been hospitalised at Sheba Medical Centre under isolation protocols with suspected Ebola virus infection, according to Israel Hayom. The patient was transferred to isolation conditions at the facility following preliminary screening.

The Health Ministry confirmed that laboratory results are expected to be received later today to confirm or rule out the diagnosis. This marks the fourth suspected case of Ebola to be identified in Israel, highlighting ongoing concerns about infectious disease surveillance at border entry points.

Ebola remains a highly contagious and potentially fatal viral haemorrhagic fever. The Health Ministry’s rapid response in isolating the suspected case demonstrates Israel’s preparedness protocols for managing potential infectious disease outbreaks.
