Israel’s Central Elections Committee has ruled that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu must personally pay for his use of IDF resources in election propaganda. The committee received five petitions against the Prime Minister, determining that he unlawfully utilised public resources, including the military, for electoral purposes.
The violations include meetings with soldiers and IDF commanders that were used for campaign material. This marks a significant ruling on the misuse of state institutions for political gain during election campaigns.
The decision represents a rare instance of accountability against the sitting Prime Minister regarding election law violations and the improper use of military assets for partisan purposes.
