The aforementioned report comes a few days after the Wall Street General newspaper reported on the US proposal for the return of up to 150,000 displaced people to the northern Gaza Strip, and after the public debate among the families of the abductees about the morality of the process.

The IDF spokesman in Arabic denied the move in question and tweeted on his Twitter account: "The rumors about the IDF allowing the return of Palestinian residents to the northern Gaza Strip are false and completely baseless. For your safety, do not get close to the forces operating there. Northern Strip region Gaza is still a war zone and we will not allow a return to it."
