German intelligence chief accused of spying for Azerbaijan

August Hanning, former head of Germany’s BND foreign intelligence service, is accused of preparing a classified briefing for an Azerbaijani intelligence official using secret documents obtained from his former office chief. The documents, prepared for a confidential chancellery meeting, reportedly contained sensitive information from allied intelligence services. Prosecutors allege this is not an isolated incident of suspected misconduct.
