Media outlets aligned with Hamas have confirmed the killing of Mohammad Odeh, a commander of the militant group’s military wing in Gaza, in a strike carried out by the Israeli Defence Forces. Odeh was eliminated just ten days after his predecessor in the role, Izz ad-Din Hadd, was killed. According to reports, Odeh’s wife, two sons and daughter were also killed in the same operation. The confirmation comes from Hamas-affiliated media channels, which typically announce significant developments affecting the organisation’s leadership and military structure. The successive elimination of senior military commanders within a fortnight represents a significant blow to Hamas’s operational command structure in the Gaza Strip, where the group maintains its primary power base and militant infrastructure.
