In honor of Jerusalem Day: What is the average salary and how many are unemployed in the capital?

In preparation for Jerusalem Day 2023, the AllJobs group, which operates, among other things, "Sahbek", a job search platform for young people, publishes recent data for the employment market among the workers and young people in the capital. The data shows that the number of job seekers in the city is now about 46 thousand, most of them 18-25 years old.

The other areas in demand among job seekers in the city are finance and economy, student jobs, administration, building and infrastructure. The hi-tech market in Jerusalem continues to grow and there is a demand for professional workers in professions such as software engineers, project managers, technical support and development team leaders.
The young people and students in the city prefer jobs from home, office work and security work to preserve the possibility of combining studies and work. The requested positions are usually filled in less than ten days from the moment of their publication.

In the salary sector it appears that Jerusalem is located in the lowest average salary levels in the country. The average salary in the city is NIS 11,645 per month, 16% lower than the average salary in the center and 6% lower than the average salary in the north.
