Iran has reported additional waves of attacks on the islands of Qeshm and Sirri in the Persian Gulf, according to reports on Wednesday. The strikes appear to be continuing after earlier bombardments, with military infrastructure bearing the brunt of the assault.Among the targets struck so far are air defence systems, air-to-ground missiles, and launch sites, along with ports and shipping facilities on both islands. The islands, which lie in strategic shipping lanes in the Persian Gulf, host various military and civilian infrastructure. The reports suggest a sustained campaign rather than isolated strikes, with multiple waves of attacks occurring over a relatively short timeframe. Qeshm Island, in particular, is Iran’s largest island and serves as a significant military and commercial hub in the region.
