Israel police propose special West Bank unit to prevent nationalist crime

Breaking

Israel’s police department has proposed establishing a dedicated enforcement unit in Area C of the West Bank to combat what they describe as nationalist crime. According to Ynet, the Samaria district police are recommending the creation of a special brigade with approximately 800 uniformed officers and soldiers.

The proposed unit, tentatively named ‘Brigade C’, would operate under the administrative command of the Central Command chief but would have full civilian investigation and policing authority. This comes amid a reported increase in friction incidents and attacks on agricultural facilities in the region.

The plan represents a significant security initiative aimed at addressing what Israeli authorities characterise as nationalist-motivated criminal activity in the disputed West Bank territory, combining military and police resources under a unified command structure.
