Israeli Arab terrorist recruit sentenced to 24.5 years for espionage and weapons trafficking to Hamas

Breaking

Shehada Abu Al-Qian from the Bedouin diaspora has been sentenced to 24.5 years imprisonment after attempting to infiltrate the Israel Defence Forces as a spy for Hamas, according to Ynet. He previously stole weapons and ammunition from a soldier and attempted to join the terrorist organisation.

Abu Al-Qian sold the stolen weapons to a terror operative before attempting to enlist in the IDF under false pretences to gather intelligence for Hamas. His infiltration attempt was discovered and stopped after eight days.

The court is examining the possibility of revoking his citizenship. Abu Al-Qian was connected to the Hamas operatives who kidnapped and murdered the Bibas family during the October 7 attacks.
