Israeli intelligence chief warns cabinet: Hamas plans further attacks or hostage operations after eliminating 4,000 of 6,000 October 7 attackers

Breaking

Israel’s intelligence chief has briefed the cabinet that approximately 4,000 of the 6,000 infiltrators who crossed the Gaza border on October 7 have been eliminated, according to Ynet. However, the operational capacity of Hamas’s military wing remains similar to pre-war levels despite three years of conflict.

Intelligence assessments indicate that Hamas is planning to implement a “Lebanon model” in Gaza, suggesting potential for sustained militant operations. The briefing suggests the terrorist organisation retains significant capacity for further large-scale attacks or hostage operations despite heavy losses.

In comparison, Israeli officials estimate that Hezbollah has lost approximately 80% of its rocket-firing capability following recent operations.
