The operation targeted one of the militant group’s most experienced military leaders as tensions between Israel and the Iran-backed organisation continue to escalate along the Lebanese border. The Radwan unit, also known as Unit 4400, is considered Hezbollah’s most sophisticated fighting force and has been responsible for planning and executing cross-border attacks against Israeli territory. The strike represents the latest in a series of Israeli operations against Hezbollah infrastructure and personnel in recent months, part of ongoing efforts to degrade the group’s military capabilities.
