Breaking

An Israeli pilot has provided an exclusive account of his actions during a critical security incident aboard a flydubai aircraft, where an Omani copilot attempted to breach the cockpit. The pilot, identified as Tal, described coordinating with additional flight crew to secure the aircraft and regain control during the incident.

According to reports from the Jerusalem Post and other sources, the copilot, identified as Captain Smit Machchhar in separate reporting, had opened the cockpit door while actively attacking crew members on the flight deck. The incident represents a serious attempted hijacking that was thwarted through coordinated crew response.

The flydubai incident has attracted significant international attention and diplomatic scrutiny. Israel’s Ambassador to the UAE, Yossi Shelley, told the Jerusalem Post that whilst there was concern about the incident, it demonstrated the strength of the Abraham Accords and had not weakened Israel-Emirati relations.

The incident has prompted renewed discussions about aviation security protocols and cockpit vulnerability procedures across international airlines operating in the Middle East region.
