According to the data of Sheba (Automated Bank Services), the developer and manager of the national credit card payment system, in March 2024, the sixth month in which the "Iron Swords" war is being waged , business activity in the economy continued the growth trend and led to the fact that the amount of monthly spending on credit cards broke the previous record recorded August 2023.
In March 2024 , the public's spending on credit cards reached a total of NIS 42.407 billion, an increase of NIS 1.075 billion and 2.6% compared to March 2023, when credit spending was NIS 41.33 billion. The average daily amount of expenses in March 2024 was NIS 1.368 billion, 3% and NIS 40 million higher than the average daily amount in February 2023, which was NIS 1.328 billion.
The amount of monthly expenses in March 2024 is a monthly record compared to the previous record in August 2023, in which expenses reached NIS 42.354 billion, i.e. an increase of 1.3%. The average daily expenses recorded in August 2023 was NIS 1.363 billion. According to the deputy director of Sheba Tali Hollenberg, "this is a clear indication of the continued recovery of the economy from the first months of the war."
