On the occasion of International Book Day: 5 tips to encourage reading

Everyone is aware of the fact that reading books is important, teaches, broadens horizons, improves mental ability and memory, and does it help us to devour books in a row? Does this knowledge make us immerse ourselves in a good book and fall asleep with it in hand?

Most of the time during Zion days for book celebrations, we will get excited, we will buy a book we planned to read, we will look for novelties, but many know the process that happens afterwards: the book is placed on the table in the dining area, from there it goes to the bedside table for reasons of conscience, and at the end we find ourselves immersed in front of a TV series another one.

All the stimuli around us, life itself, the many tasks and in general our whole lifestyle got a turn and an instant approach, while reading requires effort and desire, which were once taken for granted.

It is true that even today there are people who know and are connected to books and cannot do without them, but precisely those people who simply want to read and are unable to get to it, and those attentive people who will involuntarily postpone the task or have difficulty starting it, these tips are for you!

1. It won't jump out at you – first and foremost, don't rely on motivation or faith because the muse and inspiration will suddenly jump out at you, don't rely on the motivation that will land out of nowhere and make you leave all obligations aside, turn off your cell phone and ask for silence at home because you are reading . In order for this to happen to those who do not have it in their automaton, it is important to make it one of the regular habits. You can associate this habit with another existing habit that you do as a way of life, or with a regular blues sign, such as: "Five minutes before bed, while you get out of the shower, or every time you come back from a walk with the dog" attaching the habit to an existing permanent pattern, will become a habit very fast.

2. Five minutes in heaven – you don't have to think about reading an entire book every two days. It is enough to start with small portions. If every day you read 5 minutes or five pages, or set a specific time frame in your blues, you will already be able to notice a new habit of reading a book. Even a very short and allotted time will make the book end at one point or another, and you may also be inspired by it.

3. Be inspired – it is worthwhile and recommended to read a book that provides inspiration for creativity and it is not necessarily necessary to choose a heavy and theoretical book. When the mind receives ideas and food for thought, it wakes up and becomes much more alert. In general, choose to read in a field you like and are interested in and it will feed you with enthusiasm.

4. Like mother and father – the understanding that you are the example for your children will encourage you to read. Parents, are a mirror for the children, and generally strive to give the children the skills of reading and development. Therefore, if the parent is a good role model in terms of reading books, this in itself can encourage the children to read as well.

5. Comply with the "Wemchatferim" contract – with the creation of an obligation and reward. You can make a commitment to a family member, friend and set a custom that once a week you talk about what you read. It will harness you and them and in general can form the basis of a fine conversation.
