Israeli police have arrested three residents of the Negev on suspicion of election fraud, seizing tens of thousands of shekels in cash from their homes allegedly intended for vote-buying related to the Ra’am party. According to Ynet, the suspects were found with Ra’am ballot envelopes and significant sums of money, raising concerns about electoral misconduct.
The Ra’am party filed a complaint with the Central Elections Committee, alleging they were being targeted and marked as a specific focus for alleged interference. The party claimed the police operation represents an attempt to disrupt their electoral campaign.
The case has been transferred to the Shin Bet’s counter-terrorism and security unit (Lahav 433), indicating the authorities view the matter with serious concern regarding electoral integrity.
