A psychiatrist was hospitalized with suspected concussion after being attacked multiple times in the head at a mental health clinic in Beersheba. The attacker, described as a mentally disturbed individual who also attempted to strangle the doctor, was arrested at the scene.

Staff at the mental health facility have declared a strike until security measures are implemented. According to clinic workers, the emergency distress button is activated at least once monthly, but an incident of this severity has not occurred previously.

The attack highlights ongoing safety concerns for medical staff treating psychiatric patients in Israeli healthcare facilities.
