Russian forces have conducted attacks near the Poland-Ukraine border, with a drone striking the town of Yahodyn approximately 800 metres from the Polish frontier. The attack temporarily closed a key transit point through which aid to Kyiv is transported.
In a separate incident in the same region, a Russian strike hit a passenger train located just two kilometres from the Polish border. The train was carrying former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and senior German officials, who were safely evacuated from the train with no casualties reported.
These attacks represent a significant escalation, with Russian strikes now occurring in dangerously close proximity to NATO territory. The incidents highlight both the direct threat to Western leaders visiting the conflict zone and the risks to critical supply lines supporting Ukraine.
