Saudi Arabia intercepts suspected Houthi drones over kingdom as regional tensions escalate

Breaking

Saudi Arabia’s coalition spokesman reported that multiple unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) believed to be launched by Houthi forces were intercepted over Riyadh and the Southern Region. The interceptions mark continued attempts by Houthi forces to strike targets within the kingdom.

In related developments, Syria’s Foreign Minister indicated that Damascus is weighing whether to join the Mecca defence pact alongside Egypt, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia. This potential alignment would represent a significant shift in regional security arrangements and collective defence cooperation against aerial threats.

The incidents underscore ongoing tensions in the region and the expanding scope of security partnerships aimed at countering drone and missile threats from non-state actors.
