Shin Shin Bet participates in interrogation of pilot-saboteur over plot to crash plane

Breaking

Israeli security forces have travelled to the United Arab Emirates to participate in the interrogation of suspect Mam al-Mamari, who allegedly planned to crash a commercial aircraft. According to Shin Bet findings, the suspect intended to destroy the plane at an American military base in Jordan if he failed to crash it at Ben Gurion Airport or elsewhere in Israeli territory.

The investigation reveals the suspect visited multiple hostile countries in recent years beyond Syria. Shin Bet officials are examining whether he was recruited by any organisation, though the leading assessment is that he acted as a lone attacker motivated by a desire to avenge Gaza.

The incident represents a significant security threat involving potential mass casualty aviation terrorism. The cross-border cooperation between Israeli and Emirati security forces underscores the severity of the threat assessment.
