Gunshots were heard during a residents’ conference in Lod on Saturday evening attended by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich. Police forces launched a search to locate the source of the gunfire, and no crime scene or injuries have been reported at this time.

Smotrich addressed the issue of illegal weapons in Arab society during the conference, stating that according to Shin Bet data provided to him, there are over one million weapons in the Arab community. He presented a comprehensive plan to address criminal organisations involving Shin Bet coordination, administrative detention, minimum sentences, and economic pressure on crime networks.

Multiple Israeli sources (Walla and Israel Hayom) reported the incident, with consistent reporting that no injuries or damage have been confirmed despite the initial shots fired.
