Israeli security forces shot and killed a terrorist who attempted to carry out a stabbing attack in Jerusalem’s Old City hours after Selichot prayers concluded. The attacker entered the city through the Damascus Gate and was identified by soldiers on patrol.

After brandishing a knife and attempting to stab the troops, the forces opened fire, neutralizing the threat. A Magav commander commended the soldiers’ response, stating they acted with courage as expected.

The incident occurred in a high-security area of the Old City and was quickly contained by rapid response forces.
