After the Tel Aviv Municipality's decision to raise the parking prices for non-residents, Ramat Gan is joining the move. After the amendment to the municipal by-law received the approval of the Ministry of the Interior, the new rates for non-residents will enter Effective from next Monday.

The hourly parking rate in Blue and White in Ramat Gan for a vehicle that does not have a resident's parking ticket will increase from Monday to NIS 11.88 per hour, compared to NIS 6.30 until now. The rate for one hour of parking for a vehicle that does not bear a label in the area surrounding the Ayalon Mall will increase to ten shekels.

The amendment to the municipal by-law in Ramat Gan also allows the purchase of a monthly subscription for parking in the entire city, for non-residents, in the amount of NIS 800. The municipality clarified that the residents of the city will continue to enjoy free parking in Blue and White. However, in the evening hours, in some areas, on one side of the sidewalks, there is parking for residents of the area only, and this also applies to non-residents.

"The new rates are for visitors who come from outside the city and do not have a parking ticket," the municipality stated – "The goal is to effectively manage the public resource called blue and white parking, with an emphasis on areas where the demand significantly exceeds the supply. The change will make it easier for residents who need public parking To find one near their home, since until now the parking was significantly cheaper than its real value."

This may have consequences for residents living in nearby cities, including Givatayim, who, when they arrive in Ramat Gan, will have to pay the high parking rate. However, the municipality clarified that the express parking for half an hour in the dedicated parking spaces on Bialik and Herzl Street will continue to be free of charge for non-residents as well.

It was learned that the municipality is preparing to increase enforcement and estimates that the new and expensive rates and increased enforcement will lead to a dilution of non-residents' parked vehicles and an increase in supply to the city's residents.
