The statistic that will surprise you: who spends more in duty free – women or men?

After we have chosen a destination and found a cheap flight, it turns out that apart from the price of the ticket, the hotel and the attractions, we will have additional expenses. A new international study conducted by the m1nd-set agency found that men spend more money on shopping before the vacation.

The data shows that 64% of men who entered duty free stores in 2023 made purchases, compared to 59% of women. At the level of spending, men also spent $148 more on average compared to $137 spent by women. And not only at duty free – vacationers (especially those who chose low cost flights) – tend to buy items that will improve their level of comfort on the flight and on vacation.
