Three soldiers sentenced to 30 days’ imprisonment for leading mutiny at Temen base

Military courts have concluded trials against four soldiers involved in a rebellion at a base in Temen, with three of the ringleaders receiving custodial sentences. The three soldiers who led the mutiny have each been sentenced to 30 days’ imprisonment, discharged from combat duties, and immediately removed from frontline service. A fourth soldier, who was on leave at the time of the incident, received a lesser sentence of 20 days in military prison and will similarly be discharged from combat and removed from active duty.

The sentences represent the military’s response to what appears to have been a significant disciplinary incident at the base. All four soldiers will be transferred away from combat roles immediately following their sentences. The court proceedings, which concluded on Tuesday, mark the end of the legal process for the remaining servicemen involved in the incident.

The sentences include both custodial time and administrative measures designed to remove the soldiers from frontline positions. The military has taken formal steps to ensure the soldiers are discharged from their combat units and reassigned, effectively ending their participation in active operations.
