Traveling in Barcelona on Passover? Tourists' favorite bus line has been removed from Google Maps

Bus line 116 in the city of Barcelona has been removed from Google and Apple maps, apparently due to a decision by the city council to remove it from the network.

The request by the Barcelona City Council comes after complaints from city residents who complain that they cannot get on the line, which leaves the city center, because it is packed with tourists.

Many surfers reported last month that information about bus number 116 – which arrives at Park Goel – disappeared from operators of popular transportation applications.

This is not surprising at all, in the past there have already been statements about the danger of tourists on the popular lines. Albert Battle, the deputy mayor for security and coexistence in the city council, also said in the past that the city "should cancel the references to 116 on the Internet", due to the high density.

Although not publicly stating this, Google issued a statement: "Our goal is to reflect the real world in maps and we use multiple sources to update it – including information from local authorities, feedback from our community and third-party data providers. We are currently reviewing this situation."

In the meantime, it seems that the move is successful and the tourists do not get on the popular line, and the residents can enjoy a lot of spice on the bus.
