Turkey has turned its back on us, and that means that only we can restore ourselves

The sign at the entrance to the airport in Istanbul reads: "You know that the most serious people who are at enmity towards the believers of Allah are the Jews and those who do not believe." And the result of the sign is the announcement by the Ministry of Commerce of Turkey about limiting the export of products to Israel in 54 categories.

Thus, for years, the Israeli government pushed the Israeli industry in favor of imports from Turkey. The government preferred "cheap" over comprehensive and long-term thinking. Ministers shouted slogans of "what is good for Europe is good for Israel", while Israeli industries are fading away. The longing for affection from the Turkish ruler led to predatory imports under unfair trade conditions. The Turks export to Israel subsidized goods produced by workers with humiliating wages and without observing Western environmental quality standards. The Turkish government is satisfied and so is the Israeli government. But the people in Zion, who thinks about them?!

In this short-term thinking, our leaders ("public servants") did not understand the importance of the industrial sovereignty of the State of Israel and its abandonment in favor of Turkish products. The safety net called by the Israeli industry is an existential necessity – especially for the State of Israel, which maintains the economy and economy as an "island state".

Who will build and rehabilitate the settlements of Takuma region that were destroyed on the seventh of October? This issue is being discussed right now. The government will soon decide on the outlines that will determine the people and companies that will restore and build the revival area. the houses of the residents, the state institutions, the memorial sites, the kindergartens, the roads, the industrial areas and more.

Despite wall-to-wall agreements, the Israeli government refuses to include in the reconstruction plans a preference for the products of the country. As absurd as it sounds, consciously and fully aware, the state chooses not to encourage the local economy and continues to favor foreign companies and suppliers while deeply and knowingly harming Israeli producers and workers.

If there is still the will left in Jerusalem to hold our heads high with genius, if there is anyone there who remembers the Zionist vision, they should stand up and shout loudly, clearly and unapologetically that only Israel will restore Israel.

It seems that the case of the rope of resurrection is only an introduction to the lack of understanding of what is happening around us. Precisely in the most difficult hour of our country in 75 years, the Israeli industry raised its head and was able to face all the challenges that faced it. Starting with a huge shortage of workers recruited for reserve service, through severe disruptions in supply chains and ending with a hostile attitude from suppliers and customers around the world. A few days passed from the seventh of October until the factories reopened their doors. Many of them worked and are working under fire solely to continue supplying the security bodies, the citizens and the state institutions.

And maybe this is actually the tragedy. The shelves that remained full and the production lines that continued to work created an optimal situation for the decision makers that takes into account the continuous supply of products as if there was no war. Ministers express their burning hatred towards local producers. The Knesset debates become a circus under the auspices of populist slogans whose main goal is a headline in the newspaper and escape from responsibility. Government decisions that do not put the needs of the local economy at stake.

The Israeli public already understood the importance of promoting and investing in Blue and White products even before the war. The last six months proved to us in all its cruelty that we cannot trust any country, except ourselves. The independence of Israeli production constitutes security and a national asset and it reflects the central role of Israeli industry. The industry summit reached its peak on that night between Saturday and Sunday when the whole world witnessed a missile attack that had never happened before and was stopped by Israel's air defense system which used the advanced systems developed by the defense industry companies.

The war will bring with it consequences that will reverberate for years to come. We should not fall into illusions that a preference for imports from "comfortable" countries is better than the local industry, which is watching with closed eyes how the government's policy is gnawing more and more at the security of production and national security. On the eve of the 76th birthday of the State of Israel, its elected officials must do everything so that Israel's factories, industrialists and contractors are the ones to rebuild our country. They are the ones who will be the productive security network of the State of Israel. They are the ones who will be the most important and best image of victory for the country and its citizens.
