Israeli security forces arrested two individuals on the eve of Yom Kippur in connection with an alleged terror attack plot targeting a synagogue on the holy day. The suspects remained in custody pending further hearings.
According to prosecutors, the two suspects collected intelligence on potential targets, acquired materials for constructing an explosive device, and received instructions from a third party. The prosecution indicated evidence of coordination with an external actor in planning the attack.
The Israeli Unit for Combating Terrorism stated there is no ongoing threat to the public related to this incident. Authorities suggested the plot may have had Iranian involvement in its planning and coordination phases.
