Underestimate the army? Israel's chief rabbi: "13 thousand missiles were fired at us – we were saved thanks to the Torah scholars"

Controversial statement: Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef , who is supposed to be prohibited from expressing himself politically, said this evening (Saturday) in a lesson to his students: "13 thousand missiles were thrown at our country, God willing, what miracles and wonders did we have, thanks to what? Thanks to the Chief of Staff? Thanks to whom? Thanks to the Torah members of the Yeshiva, who sit and engage in Torah. Everything that we saved in this war that our enemies rose up against us in the north and the south, all the Hamsnik Arabs and we saved from them, thanks to what? Only thanks to the members of the Yeshiva and Abrach. They protect all the soldiers and all the people of Israel."

He also spoke out against the people of the Hesder yeshiva who opposed his previous words : "Some people of the Hesder yeshiva who attacked us shamelessly in the media in the secular media on certain channels – what audacity and things. They sent me letters. I would return, I told them I would not. We were saved only thanks to the members of the yeshivas and the priests. Protecting all the people of Israel."

Let us recall that this is not the first storm that the Chief Rabbi of Israel is behind. In response to the conscription law crisis, he said that "If the ultra-Orthodox are forced to enlist – we will leave abroad." He said that "the Levi tribe is exempt from the army, they are not taken under any circumstances, no matter what," the rabbi was heard in the recording of the lesson. "If they are forced to go to the army – We will all travel abroad, buy tickets. There is no such thing. The soldiers are successful thanks to the Torah!"

In October, before the war, he spoke out and said that "I see everything that happens in the secular public. They are dangerous. They have no satisfaction in life. All for the lust of this world," exclaimed the rabbi. "A person who eats unkosher, his mind becomes stupid. Organizations that bring them back in repentance – that's what needs to be done. They envy us."
