Underground tunnel network for illegal entry discovered near Jerusalem; 32 arrested

Breaking

Border Police and IDF forces uncovered an underground tunnel in the al-Ram area near Jerusalem on Monday night that was used to smuggle illegal residents from the West Bank into Israel, according to police. The subterranean route utilised existing sewage infrastructure, with its entrance concealed beneath a parked commercial vehicle.

During the operation, 32 undocumented residents were located and arrested. The discovery represents a significant security breach in Israel’s border control measures around the capital region.

The tunnel network highlights ongoing challenges with illegal immigration and human trafficking through the West Bank, prompting continued security operations by Israeli forces in the Jerusalem area.
