Upheaval in Holon: Motti Sasson lost the elections after 30 years in office

A shake-up in Holon: the incumbent mayor Motti Sasson lost the mayoral elections, after 30 years in office. Shai Kinan led with a significant gap – 43.3% compared to about 17.8% for Shashon.

Sasson began his career in local politics in 1984, when he served as deputy mayor of Holon, chairman of the finance committee, chairman of the 21st committee, chairman of the investment committee, member of the board of directors of two municipal subsidiaries and deputy chairman Union of cities for Holon, Bat Yam and Azor fire services.

During his tenure, the Holon Children's Museum was established as well as story gardens throughout the city. In addition to this, Peres Park, Meditech and Holon Cinematheque were established.
