US military buildup in Israel as CENTCOM chief briefs Trump on Iran military options

Breaking

More than 10 US military transport aircraft have landed in Israel at Ovda and Nevatim air bases as the United States increases military presence in the region, according to reports from Times of Israel and Jerusalem Post. The deployment comes as CENTCOM’s top commander briefed President Trump on military options regarding Iran during a meeting.

The aircraft arrival coincides with reported attempts to revive diplomatic channels with Iran. Vice President-elect JD Vance has reportedly reached out to Iranian officials, though Trump stated the communications concerned medical equipment rather than negotiations.

The military buildup follows incidents in the Strait of Hormuz where multiple tankers caught fire after hitting mines, with at least one vessel catching fire near Khassab, Oman, approximately 25 nautical miles from the reported incident location, according to the UK Maritime Trade Operations centre (UKMTO).

Regional tensions remain elevated, with the US military presence indicating readiness for potential military action in the Middle East.
