War in Gaza: The Lebanese Al-Akhbar newspaper, affiliated with the Hezbollah organization, published this morning (Wednesday) the outline of the deal for the release of the abductees that was approved at the summit in Paris and sent to the Palestinian factions. Among other things, according to the report, Israel will release all the Palestinian women and children arrested after October 7 in exchange for about 40 Israeli abductees. According to the report, in the first phase of the deal, which will last about six weeks, during which the Palestinian factions will locate and collect the abductees who are held by several organizations and in different areas. During this period, all military operations will cease, and the gathering of intelligence using fighter jets and UAVs will cease, except in the areas where IDF forces are stationed.
In the second phase, female soldiers in regular service will be released, and Israel still strives to include soldiers in it as well – in exchange for the release of a large number of Palestinian prisoners. According to an estimate, for every female soldier kidnapped, about 150 Palestinian prisoners will be released. This, alongside the introduction of humanitarian aid and the operation of health services, water and bakeries all over the Strip.
In the third phase, another truce will begin that will last six weeks, during which the Palestinian factions will be allowed to collect the bodies of the abducted, which will be transferred to Israel in exchange for the release of most of the Palestinian detainees, which it holds and hands over the bodies of Palestinians.
Meanwhile, the Washington Post newspaper reports on the significant differences between the parties. One of the issues on which a compromise has not yet been found is the ratio between the number of Palestinian bodies that will be released in exchange for soldiers, and how many Palestinians convicted of violent crimes will be released. According to Hamas' demand, three terrorists will be released for each abductee, and the IDF will withdraw from the population centers of the Strip.
