A 48-year-old woman was bitten by a snake on Wednesday afternoon whilst in the street in Ramat HaSharon, a residential suburb south of Tel Aviv. Emergency medical services responded quickly to the incident, providing initial treatment at the scene before transporting her to Shamir Medical Centre (formerly Assaf Harofeh Hospital). The woman’s condition is reported as serious but stable, with symptoms of envenomation affecting her lower limbs. Hospital staff are monitoring her closely as she receives ongoing treatment for the snake bite. Snakes, whilst generally avoiding human contact, occasionally venture into urban areas during warm months, particularly in central Israeli neighbourhoods.
