A 17-year-old boy is in serious condition after losing consciousness in a swimming pool in Safed, northern Israel, on Tuesday evening. Medical teams from Magen David Adom (Israel’s national emergency service) arrived at the scene and provided emergency treatment before transporting him to Ziv Hospital in critical condition and unconscious. The incident appears to have been medically related, though exact circumstances remain unclear.
Paramedic Oren Nachman and motorcycle unit responder Ronen Hadasi described finding the teenager unresponsive after he had lost consciousness whilst in the pool and been pulled from the water. “We found the boy unconscious and immediately provided life-saving medical treatment,” they said. “We then transported him to hospital in a serious condition.”
The boy’s critical status has raised concerns among local residents, with emergency services continuing to monitor his condition closely. Hospital officials have not yet released further details about his prognosis or the exact cause of the incident at the residential pool.
