Iris Haim, whose son Yotam was abducted from his home in Kfar Aza on 7 October and subsequently killed in an accidental shooting by Israeli forces, has posted a video from his bedroom claiming that workers have been using it as a toilet. In the footage, she alleges that labourers are choosing to relieve themselves in her son’s room rather than walking to facilities at the nearby kibbutz. “They’re too lazy to go to the kibbutz toilets, so they choose to go there instead,” she stated in the video.
The accusation has added to the family’s grief over the loss of Yotam, who was killed in what Israeli officials have described as a tragic mistake during military operations. The incident has raised wider concerns about security and dignity in homes affected by the October 7th attacks and their aftermath.
This is not an isolated incident. Last month, human waste was also discovered in the home of Nirel Zini and Niv Raviv, both deceased. The discovery prompted similar complaints about the treatment of properties and a perceived lack of respect for the homes of those who died. Iris Haim’s complaint appears to reflect growing frustration among families who have lost relatives, who feel their homes are not being properly respected or secured during reconstruction and recovery efforts.
