Israeli police volunteers from the Golan rescue unit successfully extracted a 14-year-old boy from the Judges River (Nahal Yehudiyya) on Thursday after he sustained a head injury whilst hiking with his family. The teenager slipped whilst walking through the riverbed, prompting an emergency response from the specialist rescue team. Paramedics and medical personnel from the unit provided initial medical treatment at the scene, stabilising the boy before beginning the challenging process of helping him back to safety. The rescue team accompanied the injured teenager along the riverbed and back to the car park, where he was transferred to a Magen David Adom ambulance for continued hospital treatment. The Judges River, a popular hiking destination in northern Israel, can present hazards to visitors, particularly during wet conditions when rocks become slippery.
