According to reports from multiple Israeli sources, UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed (MBZ) warned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of a major Hamas operation planned by Yahya Sinwar approximately 10 days before the October 7 massacre. The warning reportedly came through a direct phone call from the UAE leader to Netanyahu.

Jerusalem Post and Walla report that Netanyahu allegedly dismissed the warning and failed to alert Israeli security chiefs about the threat. This revelation has prompted opposition leaders to demand an immediate state inquiry into the October 7 failures and call for Netanyahu’s removal from office.

Opposition leaders from multiple political factions, including Yair Golan, Gadi Eisenkot, Naftali Bennett and Moshe Ya’alon, issued a rare joint statement declaring: “Netanyahu and his government partners are not fit to continue in office.” They emphasised: “The public is entitled to know what Netanyahu knew and when he knew it.” The opposition has vowed that establishing a state-led commission of inquiry into October 7 will be their first policy priority if they form a government.

The revelation comes amid ongoing political tensions over accountability for the October 7 security failure, with the opposition demanding answers and calling for investigations into what warnings were received and how they were handled by the government and security establishment.
