Israel braces for thunderstorms and extreme heat as weather takes dramatic turn

Simultaneously, the country faces an extreme heat warning spanning 11:00 to 22:00 across several regions. The alert covers the Beit She’an Valley, the Kinneret Basin, the Jordan Valley, the Judean Desert, the Dead Sea area and the northern Arava. The combination of intense heat and sudden heavy rainfall poses particular risks, as the contrast in temperatures and rapid water runoff could trigger dangerous flash flood conditions in desert areas and low-lying regions.

Residents and authorities in affected areas are urged to remain vigilant, particularly those in flood-prone zones. The convergence of extreme heat and sudden precipitation is expected to create challenging conditions throughout the afternoon and early evening hours.
